Christianity as a religion, should be doing much more and offering much hope for its adherents. Given recent events in the world and more especially on a regional basis, one has to wonder where is God in all of these things that are happening. True, it is foretold that these things will happen as a fulfilment of scriptural prophecies but then on the other hand those of us who are called to missionary work- and to spread the gospel of Jesus' dying for sinners- across the globe, how effective are we doing this? In other words is the message being communicated effectively that makes sense to unbelievers? The Muslim religion seems to be growing at an alarming rate in tandem with the unorthodox and unscriptural methods of wayward Muslims.why should one change from this religion or even Sikhism to Christianity? Are we just presenting the word clouded with srciptural passgaes that we ourselves migh even be misinterpreting and therefore confusing the would-be believer rather than enlightening him? I do believe that the time has come for us to take another look at how we are carrying out this mandate.
We should first demonstrate a level of understanding of the Christian principles and scriptures, put them in our own words and use them as our own. Then and only then can we demonstrate understanding. Speak to persons from the heart and belief and let them come to see how their lives will be different if they were to accept the Christian faith. Follow-up as often as is necssary and never stop praying for the person but with the person. Never quote scriptures to the would-be convert. When you have succeeded through prayer and follow-up in conversion then this would be the time to take the person through the scriptures so that he can understand them by and for himself. This is very important.
